With the Gulf Oil Crisis of the 70’s and diminishing industrial sponsorship, the cost of producing works with petroleum based Thermo-Plastics became prohibitive.

Initially using the dust-sheets covering the Neondomes, Leonelli then began erecting a series of temporary installations in various configurations re-using the same materials. These extended and amplified the architectural features of the studio; skylights, pillars and arches.
