Kings Cross St. Pancras Halo

2013

The Kings Cross Halos are a site-specific light installation designed to unify this redevelopment site, celebrating the arrival and departure of passengers through this major international transport hub.

The halos are positioned at key entrance and exit points, integrating the old and new architecture of Kings Cross St. Pancras stations.

In addition to its importance as an international point of entry and departure, Kings Cross St. Pancras is also undergoing Europe’s largest urban renewal.

Acting both as beacons and monitoring devices, these light-weight structures use low maintenance, economically viable LED lights, that can be programmed to gently fade through colour changes reflecting a range of phenomena such as weather and pedestrian movement.
